Greek Life Gone Bad
Yesterday was a sad day in Greek life. A group of guys spanning 6 different fraternities were busted for selling weed, coke, and ecstasy among other drugs. You can read the full article here. While all men in Greek life know that there will alway be certain members doing drugs, it shouldn’t be something that is a part of the house. What you do on your own time is nobody’s business, but when you bring drugs and guns and other things into your house, it becomes a whole new issue. By bringing large amounts of drugs and dealing right out of their houses, these men have done a great disservice to the Greek life of their university, the reputation of their school, and the Greek life all over the United States. It is stupidity like this that causes the negative images that come along with joining a fraternity. These guys deserve to be expelled and many of them deserve jail. If you have read my previous article on Greek life you know that for the most part it is a great experience with many benefits for those that choose to join.
5 Tips to Saving Money in College

1. Lower your brand standards
Mom and dad are no longer paying for everything you do (if you’re reading this). It’s no longer all about the Abercrombie shirts, expensive dinners, Grey Goose vodka, and Corona beer. If you want new clothes look for sales, or check Ebay. Instead of that expensive steak, try grabbing a burger. And most certainly downgrade your alcohol brand purchases. You do not need Crown Royal, grab a bottle of R&R. Try the Busch lite. I promise the difference in taste is not worth the difference in price.
2. Pre-party
The Rebuttal: Target vs. Non-Target Schools

As an editor here at College Reflections (CR), my sole job is not to just read articles and tell the original author when there is a mistake that needs to be corrected, but to also voice my opinion when I feel an article is a little too biased or needs to take another approach to the subject matter in an attempt properly represent and address the diverse demographic that is our readership. Well, a few months back one of our main contributing authors penned what I believe was a slightly biased piece on factors to consider when choosing a college. But instead of rewriting the article to be more bipartisan, the original author suggested I just write a rebuttal to his article – so here we are.
Dorm Life: 4 Things to Expect
![]()
What can a college student expect when moving into a dorm for the first time? A whole new way of life. Here are
1. Lack of space
A typical dorm room is basically a small box that you split with another person. You will have room for a twin bed (shackers beware) a small desk, and a closet. Typically dorm rooms do not have their own bathroom, though there are exceptions.
Greek: The Show

A new season of the show Greek has started. I have to admit I had never see the show until this past week. In the past few days they have been showing a marathon. I have caught a few episodes and while it is a PG-13 view of Greek life it was pretty funny. I suggest any high-schoolers who are curious about Greek life to check it out. Keep in mind that this is the PG-13 version of college. The real deal is all the crazier…
5 Things to Remember For Spring Break

There are a few things that 1st time (or veterans for that matter) tend to forget about when spring break rolls around. All they can imagine is testing being over, getting out of their town and hitting up the beach or the mountains for a week. They tend to forget about a few of the messier details as they picture their trip some type of cross between a Corona beach commercial and a Girls Gone Wild advertisement (guys at least… what do girls picture?). Here are 5 things that you shouldn’t forget in your rush to fun in the sun.
The New Facebook: Everybody’s Doing It
One of the post popular articles on Digg today is by the Washington Post. It deals with parents and facebook. It is a really interesting look at the dynamics between kids and their parents now that the popular social networking site, facebook, is open to everyone. Frankly, it would really weird me out if my parents or relatives were perusing my facebook profile even though I have nothing to hide. Not that long ago, my old youth pastor added me online and I had to think twice about that. Check out the article here.
Do you think facebook should be open to everyone?
