Coupons can save you a ton in college but I'm not sure if you've heard of a website CouponMom.com, it's a website where you can take coupons from your sunday paper and they organize so that you can use them when an item goes on sale.

Thanks for the comment Colin. I've read about shoeboxed and think they are a great program. Another one to check out is http://www.mint.com/
Mint logs all your purchases by whatever category you choose. You plug in your credit cards and it's unbelievably simple.

I find that it's helpful to keep track of my spending. There are bunch of tools out there that help.

The easiest one I've found is https://www.shoeboxed.com, where you can simply send your receipts to them. They scan/digitize all of them and then use the information to give you detailed information about your spending. I made shoeboxes for "bars", "restaurants", "dates", and "school" and "clothes" I can see if my spending is going up in one of those specific areas.

Another site I found is mint.com. I've never used it, but it could work.
